Back Story (Highly recommended read)

The year is 2270, on the world of Paranoyia. The planet’s former name has been forgotten since the war. It was much like earth in technology and inhabitants. The humans were at war, every nation for themselves. Not more than three days into the war, each nation thought they had a foolproof plan to end it in their favor. The North American Nation built a massive underground city that had tunnels popping up everywhere throughout the continent. Their city was controlled by an all-seeing computer known as P.A.T.I.O (Post Apocalyptic Terra Intelligence Operator). P.A.T.I.O was supposed to be an unbiased way to determine if someone was a communist or not. If P.A.T.I.O saw you as a communist, it sent a squad of C.O.Ms (Communist Oppression Machines) to "collect" you. You would then be Rehabilitated or Mind Swept, and you would become a "Special". Specials were the living soldiers of P.A.T.I.O.

The North American nations retreated into their underground base and launched a missile strike on the opposing nations in order to wipe them all out. After the radiation that may have leaked over the ocean from the blast receded, they returned to the surface only to find that each nation, save for Cuba, had done the same thing. They also found a massive side effect from the blast. Holes had been ripped in the dimensional rift between all words, causing beings from various areas to flood in. Once they had deposited their “packages,” however, these wormholes closed off, leaving Paranoyia littered with stranded entities.The original worlds for many of these strange beings had no concept of death, and soon it was found out that when you were in these oases, you would heal faster and you couldn't die. This became very useful since the radiation transformed P.A.T.I.O's idea of what communism was, and soon decided that anyone who wasn't human or a Special was a communist.
