De La Roche, Kain 24kwf3k

“We are each our own devil, and we make this world our personal Hell.”

rStandard Procedurer
“He is being very careful who he lends his name to; he won't be associated with just anybody.”

* First Name: Kain
* Middle Name: N/A
* Surname: De la Roche
* Aliases:
* Gender: Male
* Age: Twenty-one {{Unknown}}
* Race: Saecula saeculorum {Literally “without end”}
* Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

rThe Uniformr
“If it requires a uniform, it's a useless endeavor.”

* Hair: Short in the back and moderately longer in the front, his hair is a dusky raven-hued black, with loose bangs which frame his eyes.
* Eyes: His eyes are a deep, cobalt blue, sometimes with a gleam of crimson.
* Skin: Lightly tanned, as if he once spent the majority of his time in the sun but has since ceased such habits.
* Height: Six feet, four inches.
* Weight: Two hundred pounds, due to his stone-based composition.
* Usual Style of Clothing: When “on duty,” he wears a disconcerting white theatre mask, marked by a thin red line for a mouth, and a jagged purple mark crossing over the right eye. The eyeholes are covered with a black mesh material that allows him to easily see out, but hides his eyes from his opponents. His general apparel in this form is typical of a military operative, with black tactical pants, a tight-fighting black t-shirt, a metal belt around his waist, a harness of some sorts about his chest, and a bullet-resistant overcoat. He also wears a pair of durable, tight-fighting gloves and combat boots.
When “off duty,” he dresses as anything from casual to moderately formal, as long as it is comfortable. Most of his casual clothing has the occasional splatter of blood, but is, for the most part, presentable. His mask is never away from him, typically concealed on his person.
* Other: On the back of his right shoulder, there is a tattoo of a single bar, twisted and interwoven about itself to form three loops. The tattoo is no smaller than a child’s palm, and etched in black ink.
Spoiler:

rCombat Assessmentr
“It seems like such a terrible shame that innocent civilians have to get hurt in wars, otherwise combat would be such a wonderfully healthy way to rid the human race of unneeded trash.”

* Special Ability: Sound Manipulation.
Kain is able to create, control, and manipulate sound waves. This allows him to not only alter the sound of his voice and his surroundings, but enables him to locate his opponents by echolocation. He is also capable of disrupting their balance via alteration of the equilibrium in their inner ear.
* Weapon: Suonos
Suonos is a pair of gloves with eight metal claws that essentially vibrate at different frequencies. Each finger acts somewhat like a tuning fork in this matter. The right glove, being dominant, is slightly larger; the left glove is smaller in order create a musical octave from high C to low C. In using Suonos, Kain is able to play different notes, chords, and even musical numbers to produce different attacks.
• Example: {Seventh Chord} Silence: Blocks out all sound from reaching the target, disorienting them by altering the equilibrium of their inner ear, and leaving them vulnerable to further attacks.
The more complex the sound Kain creates, the more complex the attack. That is, an attack formed from a full musical number is more complex than an attack formed from a single chord, and one formed from a chord is more complex than an attack based upon the sound of a single note.
The gloves themselves are made from a comfortable, durable material that fits specifically to Kain’s hands and no other’s. They are neither too heavy, nor too light, and are incapable of tearing, staining, or burning. The right hand is made from thicker, silver material to produce deeper, stronger sounds, while the smaller left glove is formed from a lighter black fabric for sinfully sweet and delicate melodies. The claws, like the mesh of the gloves, are durable and unbreakable, never dulling so that they may not only be instruments of music but of combat. Such as the gloves are unable to burn, the claws are made of a metal-like material that, while having certain qualities of metal, is unable to conduct electricity or heat.
* Element: Earth

rTemperamentr
“Temperament lies behind mood; behind will, lies the fate of character. Then behind both, the influence of family the tyranny of culture; and finally the power of climate and environment; and we are free, only to the extent we rise above these.”

* Personality: For the most part, Kain is a typically calm, nonchalant person when "off duty." He tends to be indifferent to disputes not actively concerning him or his opinion, and often a little lazy. He tends to wander off by himself, musing and listening to the sounds around him. When “on duty,” a rather different side shows. He becomes slightly more cruel and aggressive person, though no less cold or calculating. His actions, while planned and thorough, often border on the psychotic, expressed in his cannibalism.
A bit more into detail, when he is around others, he is reserved, but not quite shy. Like a careful hunter, he is typically observant, and not particularly trusting. When utterly alone, typically in his own house, he hums and taps out rhythms to keep from boredom. Much like his passive side, he ponders often, and tends to think aloud when he is not around others.
In his house, there is a music room, where he spends most of his time, occasionally singing or playing one of the many musical instruments he owns. His other pastime, oddly enough, is cooking from his personal store of meat [kept fresh in a meat locker under his house], despite his pension for eating his meat raw.
The most peculiar part of his personality, perhaps, is his actions when he finds those about whom he can truly care. The oddest part, perhaps, is that he has found the capacity to be bothered about them. Although he is still reluctant to trust, the notion comes more easily than it does with strangers. He will lightly push towards cannibalism, but, if rebuked, will defer.
* Likes:
    Meat, preferably of a humanoid race
    Blood spray patterns
    Music
* Dislikes:
    Tasteless meat
    Boredom
    Swimming
* Bad Habits: Eating the flesh of his fallen opponents {Cannibalism~}
* Fears: Eternal Loneliness

rBackground Checkr
“I’ve learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.”
* Date of Birth: Unknown
* Relations: No Known Relations
* History: Every dimension, every world, every time, every species, every race—each has a creation story of some kind. Some begin with nothing but a deep vacuum of space, others with a puddle in a world far before time began, and still others…from nothing. To create from nothing is an extraordinarily difficult process, and will not be given much detail in this account. To shorten and simplify this account, we shall say that there was, first, nothing, and then…there was something. A place—a universe, perhaps, a world.
This world, upon creation, was lush and green, but at the same time, like a new blade of grass, fresh, and fragile. The Creator, thus, decided to provide it with a set of guardians—sentinels of this newly creative universe. They were a unique race, each similar to what is now deemed “human,” yet were created with a unique composition—each was a manifestation of the natural elements: Water, Earth, Fire, Air, Nature, and Pure Energy {later to be known as Electricity}. Water was the closest in composition to a human body—for the others, where water is typically the main component in a living body; the others had been given their element. Fire was predominately a heated substance akin to literal fire; Air was light and mostly gaseous in composition, etc. They were called Saecula saeculorum by their Creator—literally “Without End.” Beings such as this would later come to be known as “Golems,” defined to be somewhat of animated anthropomorphic beings created entirely from inanimate matter.
The focus of this narrative is Earth—known as Kain. His body was, as in uniform with the others of his “kind”, predominantly a mineral-based substance, adding weight to his being. He, for a time, served his purpose like the others. He watched the universe expand, grow, and tended to it. Eternal through time, he watched the native beings of such a world grow, observing them with careful curiosity. Through experience, he and the other Saecula Saeculorum’s gained the notion of “free will,” and sought to possess such a thing. Simply by pursuing this sensation, they achieved their goal, and began to integrate themselves into existing societies. In doing so, they instinctually fled their duties as assigned by their Creator.

Having always curiously watched and imitated human behavior, Kain was the first to venture into society. He took on the pretense of a musician, experimenting with the way sound not only, well, sounded, but with the way it worked. He was fascinated by the thought, and by the songs which the natives of this planet had begun to create. Locals deemed him a minstrel, one who traveled to learn and play music, and one of great skill. One might say that his first true human experience, however, was the discovery of such emotions as empathy, love, and even…loneliness.
Ah, distinctly, it can be remembered—that fateful, cold November—when he sat and watched the embers dance upon the floor. Kain had lived for quite awhile at this point, but had yet paid little, if any, attention to the transience of human life—to how fleeting and base their kind was. His primary goal had been simple freedom and pleasure, and that was all he pursued. Sitting there, in a cushioned chair before the fireplace of a pub, he chanced upon the presence of a young female in the room. She was lovely—honey blonde hair, rose petal lips, crystal blue eyes, a healthy glow, a slender yet well filled figure—and she attracted his attention like nothing else had yet done.
Her name, this enamoring creature, was Lenore. Like a spark, they connected—her, because she feared life was too short; him, because he craved her. It was under this grievously mistaken pretense which Kain discovered the mortality, the fragility, of humanity. As the years went on and he remained eternal, he watched his beloved Lenore age, become unwell, and eventually pass. For the first time, one of his kind experienced a deep pain—heartbreak.

From this point, he regarded the remaining natives of this world with a cold bitterness. Like a child scorned, he withdrew into silent, observant apathy outside of society. Still, however, he neglected his original duties, and there, again, fell into an unfortunate situation.
During Kain’s time of “absence,” or so his affairs with Lenore could be deemed, the Creator of the Saecula Saeculorum had grown tired of His indolent sentinels, and had thus sought to eradicate them. Though they were unable to die of natural causes, he began to seek them out and delete them, one by pitiful one.

“Kain!” He had called; his voice harsh and demanding.
With a sophomoric grin, His creation had turned to face him, tipping up his black hat and straightening his suit.
“Master?” he had answered mockingly.
“It’s time for you to face the end of eternity. You’ve lived past your usefulness.”
His situation slowly dawning on him, Kain’s grin had gradually been replaced by a blank look of determination.

By pure luck and chance, Kain survived an attack which rightfully should have erased his entire existence—all there was of it, all there had been of it, and all there would ever be of it. As things which have been created are so rarely able to defeat that which created them, he took flight from his Creator. Appalled that his fellow “siblings” had been deleted, that he was the last, and knowing that he held no chance of survival if he were to encounter his Creator once more, he sought a more effectual escape, and chanced to leave the universe which he was intended to protect.
His method—that is, using his elemental prowess to bring a meteor close to the planet he currently inhabited so that he may grab a hold of it and in essence “ride” it to safety—while unconventional, was successful. Without a true need for air, food, or other luxuries of the sort not likely to be found in deep space, Kain had temporarily escaped the inevitable fate faced by all living beings for the first time. It was during this time where he found his propensity for being alone and self-examination. He nearly found himself regretting his decision to flee death from time to time, having nothing of particular interest to keep himself occupied with.
A change of pace came when his meteor—perhaps one of those lucky stars so often wrote about—spiraled into a wormhole. Already a survivalist out of necessity, and exceedingly difficult to eradicate, he survived a trip his meteor did not, and found himself in a universe akin to his origin, plummeting through the atmosphere of a planet not unlike the one he had been charged with guarding. His destination is what was once deemed ‘Russia’, at a time a few years before the Cold War would take place.
Wary of humanity, albeit curious at the same time, he was withdrawn from any sort of society once more, venturing only to watch this new breed of humans—or so they seemed to him—engage in a sort of battle with each other. These humans, unlike those he had known, had devised brutal ways of killing and torturing each other; their capability of such mercilessness intrigued him even more than their capability for empathy.
On one such venture, inspecting strange devices the Russians had deemed “nuclear missiles”, he inconspicuously climbed aboard one, much like he had climbed aboard his meteor years before. Said warhead was later launched in the Cold War, and he found himself travelling towards a place known as “North America.” Upon reaching his destination, yet again through such unconventional means, he again sunk into obscurity, and bid his time until other creatures such as him—perhaps not exactly like him, but less human than those around him, and more interesting at that—would arrive.
(It is important to note that it was, during this time, when he discovered his predilection for the taste of human flesh. It was among the brutality he observed in these “new” humans, and as all things of interest must be explored, it became a past time of his, and has continued to be one since.)
